Circles Lens Review: Vassen Little Mermaid Ocean Blue (+ Pictures)

So my circle lens finally arrived! I actually feel that it took longer. Hmm. Maybe it’s because I was expecting them any day, haha. But they still arrived very quickly!

As a reminder, I got the Vassen Little Mermaid Ocean Blue, plano – because I honestly don’t remember my prescription. I had bought these from Pinky Paradise as a gift to myself and to start myself off with a circle lens addiction. Er um. Here’s the information about the lenses:

Diameter: 14.5
Water Content: 42%

Hmm. Perhaps I have to warn that I’m not wearing any makeup because, well, I’m lazy. That’s really it. Sorry, if you were looking for those types of pictures. Also I have yet to own a pair of false eyelashes so I guess that’s another thing I have to “warn” about. Haha… Well. I’m just so excited that I just sort of rushed it. Whatever, I do what I want!

Anyway, I did a quick comparison picture to see whether they enlarged:

Such a difference!

The enlargement is obvious but I don’t think that’s really a bad thing. Hmm. I really like how they came out though!

Also, I must note that the only reason my left eye looks red is because I always have trouble putting in my left contact. Always. It took a while but I got it in! I also waited about 10 minutes for my left to get used to it and for it to clear up as much as I could. Believe me, it was much redder before.

All in all, I am extremely satisfied with these lenses! I love the color, the comfort level! I don’t really have any complaints about it at all. I mean, at first glance it seems like it could be more purple than anything (especially under dim lights) but it comes out as a natural (as natural as it could be, I guess) blue on me that I’ve always dreamed about – and what’s even better, they’re from a mermaid line! Mermaids are truly my favorite types of mythology. ♥

Enlargement 10/10 – These enlarges my irises just fine! It’s kind of obvious that I’m wearing contacts with these on but I really don’t find that uncomfortable!
Color & Design 10/10 – I was worried that my dark brown eyes wouldn’t bring it out but thankfully that wasn’t the case! The color itself seems like it could be purple under certain lights (but little did the makers of Vassen realize that I actually really like purple so it’s a win-win). The design is clear and extremely pretty! I adore these! It really goes with the theme of “Ocean Blue”!
Comfort 10/10 – These are extremely comfortable! I feel like these are just like any old prescription contacts that I used to wear back in the day! I could definitely get used to wearing these! I just wish my eyes would get used to it and stop blurring themselves out.
Overall 10/10 – These are absolutely perfect! Everything is amazing and I’m so glad I made this purchase! I think I’ll probably invest more into Vassen products in the future!

And now the moment you’re waiting for! Just look below for the other pictures that I decided to take with these on!

Product Review: “Pretty in Pink” Warpaint Beauty Nail Polish

I know I had mentioned before that I had gotten a job. Well, as it turns out, they didn’t want me after all. To help cope with this massive ego blow, I was watching some anime to help relieve the depression.

So as I’m watching the anime, I realize I have this nail polish – just sitting there and gathering dust.

Instead of just wallowing further in my self-pity, I decided to do a review of this nail polish! Let’s get to it!

Originally, Warpaint Beauty is a Hot Topic beauty line that, I suppose, didn’t do so well. I got this and an eye shadow for extremely cheap and they were on clearance on top of that. I know I mentioned a little about its history once upon a time. But now it seems that they don’t even sell them on the website anymore. Hmm. Maybe I should check out eBay for other colors… In any case, let’s get this review started!

As you can see, the color is a bright, pretty pink. Usually I like pinks with my nail polishes but the top part of the polish actually makes it kind of hard to put it on my nails right. It’s a square top and it doesn’t grip very well. But to be fair, I haven’t put on nail polish in a while. Still, though, I wish it was a little easier to put it on.

An upside down look. Also click to see the full picture.

Longevity-wise, it can last a while. I’ve had it on my toes before and it could definitely last. For my nails though, it can last and it can actually dry up fairly quickly. I was sort of surprised when it dried up as fast as it did. However, the color itself may be too bright for me since, as I keep mentioning, a Latina/Hispanic. Perhaps it’d look better on someone who’s lighter than me? Well, at least I don’t think it looks good on me. It’s too bright.

As for the color, you really need just one coat in order for the pink to come out. You may need a top cover in order to keep it even but I don’t think it’s really necessary? Up to you, really. Preferably, I try to save as much as I can so I don’t since it doesn’t really need it.

And a while means about 10 to 15 minutes.

It is a pretty pink though! I could see myself using it as part of a marble design or something with the other colors I have. But by itself? I don’t think I’d use it unless I’m doing nail art or something.

Longevity It dries fairly quickly and it lasts quite a while. Of course, you still have to be careful with your nails but it doesn’t take that long to dry at all.
Price For how much I got it for, it was well worth the prices, however, I can’t say how much they are anymore since they’re no longer in production. You would have to look up eBay or Amazon or even second-hand sellers if you want to buy this product.
Color The pink is a really pretty color but it might be too light for me. It stands out too much and it’s actually kind of bright. It doesn’t feel right with me.
Overall 7/10 – I really do like this nail polish but I really don’t see myself hurrying to use it anytime soon. The main problem I have is with the cap. It’s hard to grip and it’s hard to put on my fingernails and toes. I’m always worried I’m going to lose it. That’s really my main gripe. I wish I could say it’s because of the color but I’m pretty meticulous (or try to be) when I’m applying nail polish. I don’t want to worry as much as if I’m holding onto a regular cap.

Thank you for reading this review!

Finally, A Haul Post!

Before my birthday, I was able to go to a mall in Scottsdale and just splurge before I moved here. I’m only able to do it now because now I’m finally settled enough to take pictures, upload, and post pictures now. I was hanging out with my friends (those I’m hoping I can see again this weekend) when we both found Wet Seal!

It’s a store here in North America that has this cool sale: if you buy anything on clearance, you can get something else on clearance for a penny. Literally, a penny! I’ve taken advantage of this sale once before but that was way before I had this blog. So… let’s see what I got this time!:

Ehehehe…. I was feeling very 80s that day but I couldn’t resist! Usually I don’t have green clothes (like I can count two other green shirts in my wardrobe – one was a gift and another has Keroppi on it) so yeah. Out of all of them, the light green camisole was the only one that wasn’t on sale. :3

And as you can tell, I got a pair of flats! That was lucky, right? Here’s a closer look of them:

Those are so cute! And I actually had some footless tights I had lying around from a previous spree but I figured it’d be a cute addition to the outfit!

The bracelet really adds to the 80s look ehehe. :”D I couldn’t help it! Oh but my friend, Jenna, told me about another store next to Wet Seal – Charmin Charlie! It’s a place where they sell mostly accessories but jewelry mostly. They ahhh, had another sale on their clearance items: buy one necklace get another free!

And with minutes till the mall closed I just had to get this:

Obviously, you can see a trend here. Granted, I have no problem paying full price for something but if I’m going to get an extra gift with my dollar spent with clearance items, then so be it! :3

Anyway, that’s the cute strawberry and this second one here:

Originally, it’s a star key. Unfortunately, in the process of moving, it broke. D: I still have the other part but I have to get some hot glue to fix it. Ahh but it’s still cute even though it’s broke, huh?

Moments after we left the mall, we went back to Tempe to go to Zia Records and I actually managed to find a JPOP album. o_O; I mean, they had Dir en Grey but that’s kind of standard as far as an independent rock store goes but… JPOP? And more importantly, SMAP?

Even though I haven’t talked about Johnny’s much in the past few years or so, I still had to get it. o_o I mean, how could I not?

But anyway, sorry it’s short but ^^; haha, I don’t know what else to put in here. But yeah. That’s all I got anyway. Once I go away for the weekend, I’ll wear those and I’ll take pictures so expect to see it on Monday or Tuesday or when I’m able to. @_@;; Enjoy your Labor Day weekend!
